Calling & Messaging Compliance
Last updated July 6, 2026
Foreman AI places and receives AI phone calls and sends messages on your behalf. Telemarketing and call-recording laws (including the TCPA, state mini-TCPA and two-party-consent statutes, and WhatsApp/Meta policies) apply to how you use these features. This page explains what Foreman does and what you are responsible for. It is information, not legal advice.
1. You are responsible for consent
Before you use Foreman to call or message anyone, you must have the consent the law requires to contact that person on that channel — including prior express written consent where it is required for AI or automated calls and texts. You are responsible for honoring federal and state Do-Not-Call rules and any WhatsApp or Meta opt-in requirements.
2. AI agents and disclosure
Our AI voice agents are built to sound natural. They will confirm they are an AI assistant if a caller asks, and are instructed not to deny it. Some states and use cases require a clearer up-front AI disclosure — you are responsible for configuring how your agents identify themselves to meet the rules that apply where you operate.
3. Call recording
Calls may be recorded and transcribed so you have a record and a summary. By default the AI agent does not announce recording, so you are responsible for disclosing it and getting consent wherever the law requires it — some states require every party to consent. If you operate in those states, add a recording notice to your agent’s greeting.
4. Opt-outs and do-not-contact
- We honor STOP / UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL / QUIT keywords on SMS and WhatsApp and add that contact to your do-not-contact list;
- Numbers on your do-not-call / opt-out list are blocked from outbound calls and messages;
- Outbound contact respects quiet hours — by default, calls and messages are paused outside 8am–8pm.
5. Your indemnity
You are responsible for how you use Foreman to contact people, and you agree to indemnify Foreman for claims arising from your outreach, including TCPA, Do-Not-Call, call-recording, or messaging-policy violations. [PLACEHOLDER — attorney to finalize indemnity and limitation-of-liability wording before launch.]
